Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Monday 15th June

Happy Monday guys, welcome back to our learning.

Let’s start off with a bit of fun …

For today’s learning we have…

Remember to practise your sounds daily. RWI will be holding daily virtual lessons for children to practise their sounds:

Set 1 sounds at 9:30am

Set 2 sounds at 10:00am

Set 3 sounds at 10:30am

They have updated these lessons to include word time for set 1 speed sounds and spelling for set 2 and 3.

There is also “Storytime with Nick” three times a week (Mon, Wed & Fri at 2pm) and some poems that your child can learn and perform.

I have attached a correct the spelling worksheet for you. The word you need to correct is circled.

Special naming words have capital letters.

Names are special naming words

Mrs Hill

Days of the week are special naming words.

Months of the year are special naming words.

Names of places are also special naming words.

First, I would like you to read the sentences and underline the special naming words then answer the questions with a special naming word. When you have done that, finish the sentences with special naming words.

This morning we have a maths warm up to get our brains working, try to complete this independently.

All groups:

Today we are going to be learning about doubles, these will help us when we are learning about dividing and sharing later on this week. I have attached a powerpoint about doubles using ladybirds, see if you can answer the doubles. Then click on the worksheet for your group to put your learning to the test.

Remember to practise your times tables with Times Tables Rock Stars.

Last week you investigated which materials were absorbent. Absorbent means that a material can soak up the water or liquid. Today you are going to find out which material out of newspaper, a tissue, kitchen paper and paper is the most absorbent.

Mr and Mrs Mop are brilliant cleaners. They sweep, dust, scrub and tidy. But they have a problem. They can't buy any more of their favourite cloths for wiping up water and any other liquids that have been spilled. There are some other kinds of cloths available, but they don't know which ones to buy. What are they going to do?

Mr and Mrs Mop need to find a new material

to mop up water.

What is the best material to do this?

Can you help them choose?
