For today’s learning we have…

Maths

This morning we have a maths warm up to get our brains working, try to complete this independently.

All groups:

Today we are going to be learning about doubles, these will help us when we are learning about dividing and sharing later on this week. I have attached a powerpoint about doubles using ladybirds, see if you can answer the doubles. Then click on the worksheet for your group to put your learning to the test.

Remember to practise your times tables with Times Tables Rock Stars.

Science

Last week you investigated which materials were absorbent. Absorbent means that a material can soak up the water or liquid. Today you are going to find out which material out of newspaper, a tissue, kitchen paper and paper is the most absorbent.

Mr and Mrs Mop are brilliant cleaners. They sweep, dust, scrub and tidy. But they have a problem. They can't buy any more of their favourite cloths for wiping up water and any other liquids that have been spilled. There are some other kinds of cloths available, but they don't know which ones to buy. What are they going to do?

Mr and Mrs Mop need to find a new material

to mop up water.

What is the best material to do this?

Can you help them choose?
