Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Monday 13th July

Happy Monday guys, welcome back to our learning.

Let’s get our bodies moving with a yeti dance!

For today’s learning we have…

Remember to practise your sounds daily. RWI will be holding daily virtual lessons for children to practise their sounds:

Set 1 sounds at 9:30am

Set 2 sounds at 10:00am

Set 3 sounds at 10:30am

They have updated these lessons to include word time for set 1 speed sounds and spelling for set 2 and 3.

There is also “Storytime with Nick” three times a week (Mon, Wed & Fri at 2pm) and some poems that your child can learn and perform.

I have attached a correct the spelling worksheet for you. The word you need to correct is circled.

Today we are going to revise some of the grammar we have been learning this year.

We have learnt so much!

We have learnt about:

  • naming words (nouns) and special naming words that all need a capital letter
  • describing words (adjectives)
  • different sentences
  • statements which start with a capital letter and end with a full stop. This is a dog.
  • questions which start with a capital letter and ends with a question mark (?)
  • sentences which show how people are feeling start with a capital letter and end with an exclamation mark.
  • Doing words (verbs)
  • Plurals (more than one)
  • Prefixes (-ed -ing) and suffixes (un)

Now try the worksheet to see how you do.

This morning we have a maths warm up to get our brains working, try to complete this independently.

G/Y/R/O groups:

Today we are going to be comparing numbers. We are going to read numbers in tens and ones like we did last week and find the largest or the smallest. Then we are going to use equal to (=), more than (>) and less than (<) to compare numbers. Do you remember when we did this a few weeks ago?

After you have finished your work, try this game to see if you can order these numbers:

Remember to practise your times tables with Times Tables Rock Stars.

Blue group:

Your learning today is about 2D shapes. Today we are going to recognise these shapes and match them to the names. At home with your grown up talk about the 2D shapes you know, do you know how many sides and corners they have? Can you spot them on the worksheet and colour them in the correct colours?

We have looked at how there are different animal groups. Can you remember the 6 animal groups?

Today we are going to group the animals in a different way.

Different animals eat different types of foods. We can group animals by the different types of food they eat. Some animals are carnivores, some are herbivores and some are omnivores.

Carnivores eat meat.

Herbivores eat plants.

Omnivores eat meat and plants.

Watch the video to find out what more about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.

Now I would like you to click on the worksheet to show me what you have learnt.
