Question A break down the numbers to their place value
E.g. 428 = 400 + 20 + 8
Question B write the numbers in digits and words
E.g. 567 = Five hundred and sixty-seven.
Question C look at the abacus and write the number shown, the first one is done for you.
Others Challenge 1: do Q1,2,3
E.g. 5 x 2 = 10
50 x 2 = 100
500 x 2 = 1000
Challenge 2: do all
E.g. 524 x 3
1500 + 60 + 12 = 1572
Challenge 3: do a-f
E.g. 438 x 4
Estimate: 400 x 4 = 1600
Work out:
(400x4)+(30x4)+(8x4)
1600 + 120 + 32 = 1752
