Below you will find all the learning for today. This includes reading, writing, maths and a foundation subject (Science, Geography, History, R.E, Computing, art or Design Technology). The coloured activities should be completed if your child is in that group in class. All reading texts and worksheets can be found at the bottom of the page, some reading texts will be posted Monday for use all week. 

 

Reading - Today is Poetry day and we are reading The Car Trip by Michael Rosen.

We know Michael Rosen's poems can be amusing, what might he write about in this poem?

Writing - Shakespeare: Macbeth - Character Description 

In this lesson, we will use the plan from the previous lesson to write about Macbeth's character with a main focus on the last two aspects of his character: when he turns weak and decides that he wants to abandon his plans and at the end when he is overwhelmed by guilt and starts to hallucinate. During the lesson, the teacher will model how to use the plan and the success criteria to write two paragraphs of the character description. Here is a short sample of what I might have written for section 3 - feeling weak:

Macbeth's Character

In the beginning of the play, Macbeth is seen as a bold and strong character. He is a warrior, who is returning home after fighting for his king, and a good friend to Banquo. Now we find our 'hero' in a moment of weakness, doubting his every move and fearing the vicious words of his darling wife...
