Literacy

Today we are going to write an information page about some of the African animals we learnt about. Use the facts you have found out to create your fact sheet yesterday. We want you to draw and write to create an information page about your animal in any format you like. You could use paper or create it on a computer or use the template attached. Don’t forget to include a picture and some sentences about your African animal.

(Remember we want your child to use their sounds to spell so not all words will be spelt right!). Don’t forget the checklist we use in class when writing. Have you used your Fred fingers to spell words? Have you got finger spaces between your words? Are your letters well formed? If you notice a letter is the wrong way you could practice that to! Each sentence should start with a capital letter and end with a full stop.

Maths

Lets start off our maths with ordering numbers to 20 independently. It is good to keep revisiting areas of learning. This can be done using the game below.

This week we are going to learn about sharing and halving. Yesterday the children worked with you to complete sharing between different numbers. Today the children are going to complete the sheet attached (Sharing at the Teddy Bears' Picnic) on their own. If they need support please model one of them to your child and then let them continue on their own again.

Lets finish off our maths lesson by using our number lines we have made for the children to find out one more and one less of any number given.

Topic

Let’s finish the week with a nice calm activity. We are going to try Sunset art. Please look through the attached information with all you need to get started.
