Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Friday 5th June

Morning Ahlberg class, it is Friday, what day was it yesterday can you remember? What day will it be tomorrow then? Thought we’d recap our continents song, can you remember it all? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmvw3sTGajs

For today’s learning we have…

RWI

Remember to practise your sounds daily. RWI will be holding daily virtual lessons for children to practise their sounds:

Set 2 sounds at 10:00am

Set 3 sounds at 10:30am

They have updated these lessons to include word time for set 1 speed sounds and spelling for set 2 and 3.

There is also “Storytime with Nick” three times a week (Mon, Wed & Fri at 2pm) and some poems that your child can learn and perform.

SPaG

Today is our spelling day, we’re going to concentrate on our common exception words with this fun activity mat.

Literacy

Now you have read two stories about Anansi, I would like you to write a fact file about Anansi. You can use the two stories we have looked at.

Where does he live? What does he look like? What kind of spider is he? What does he like? What does he not like?

This fact file should be in sentences. Can you write 10 things about Anansi?

Here are a few things about Anansi to start you off.

  1. There are many stories about Anansi.
  2. The stories of Anansi are from Africa.
  3. Anansi is a spider.

Maths

This morning we have a maths warm up to get our brains working, try to complete this independently.

G/Y/R/O groups:

Today we are going to be adding coins to make amounts. Remember to count carefully and look at the coins carefully, you can always write the numbers under each coin and when you’ve counted them cross it out.

After you’re learning, see if you can count coins carefully to buy toys at this toy shop. https://www.topmarks.co.uk/money/toy-shop-money

Remember to practise your times tables with Times Tables Rock Stars.

Blue group:

Your learning today is all about counting amounts of coins. Make sure you count them carefully and cross them out as you do so you don’t count them again.

All groups:

There is a challenge today for you to complete.

Computing

This week we are going to learn about the different parts of a computer. Usually we use phones or tablets to see things on the internet. But we can use big computers as well. Computers are important for us to use because we get to use the different parts such as a keyboard and a mouse. Here is a link where you can click on the different parts of a computer to learn more about them, there is also a game for you to play.

PE

For PE this week we are going to be learning how to dribble a ball, some of you may already know how to do this, which is great, it’ll mean you’ll be brilliant at these games. All you need is a football. Ask others in your household to play a game with you too. You don’t have to do all the games but give a few ago. Let me know how you get on.

Here is the link for Joe Wick’s PE sessions if you would like to challenge yourselves.
