Friday 10th July

Understanding the World

We have learnt all about tractors this week, but do you know what farmers used to do the jobs on the farm before they had tractors?

That's right, farmers used horses to help them on the farm.

Understanding the World

This horse is called a Shire horse. Can you find out about some of the other jobs horses did on the farm?

Watch this video to find out more about Shire horses on farms.

Creative

Shire horses are the biggest horses we have. Can you build a stable for them to sleep in when they have finished their work.

Writing

Draw a picture of a Shire horse (don't forget it's very big!). What sound can you hear at the beginning of 'horse'?

Practice writing 'h'
