Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Friday

Good morning.

We made it to the end of the week! I hope you are all ok.

I am looking forward to see you all again on Monday.

Have a lovely weekend.

Let’s warm up!

Reading

Year 1

To finish our reading lessons this week I would like you to read short texts. One is a story about kangaroos and one is about a boy who finds a cave made of chocolate!

Read the texts carefully then answer the questions.

Ms Ellson’s reading group

To finish our reading this week you are going to read part of a Horrid Henry story and then answer the questions about it. Remember to answer the questions in complete sentences.

Maths

Year 1

Today you are going to measure weight. Watch the video to find out about your learning then complete the maths learning jobs. The challenge is to see if you can solve some weight problems.

Year 2

Today we are going to use millilitres and litres to measure volume. You will see millilitres and litres on cans, cartons and bottles. This tells you how much is in each container.

Watch the videos for today’s learning and then complete your learning.

Spelling

Year 1

Today we are going to spell words with the suffix ing, ed and er.

We use the suffix ing to show that something is happening now. This is the present tense.

We use the suffix ed to show that something has happened. It has been done. This is the past tense.

We use the suffix er to change a verb (an action word) into a noun (a naming word.)

For example: paint - painter.

Look at the verbs and add the suffix ing, ed, er. Take care to spell the words correctly.

Year 2

Today you are going to spell words with the suffix ly and ness.

ly words are adverbs and words ending in ness are nouns (naming words)

Look at the words and add ly or ness. Take care to spell the words correctly.

P.E

We are going to end the week with P.E. You are going to complete a PE lesson with Joe Wicks.

Make sure you have plenty of space around you first. Have fun.
