Greenfield Primary School

Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Friday

Reading

Today, you will be finishing the book Fantastic Mr Fox.

The text is attached below along with the Reciprocal Reading PowerPoint that you can follow as you read the pages.

Here is the order we usually follow in class for Reciprocal Reading:

  • Predict (sensible guess)
  • Read the pages
  • Clarify the meaning of words you didn’t know
  • Answer the questions
  • Summarise

Maths

Today, you are going to be learning how to draw on a grid.

Here is the link to a video that will teach you everything you need to know for this lesson, just as I would teach you in class:

Sum4.11.2 - Draw on a grid on Vimeo

After you have watched the video, have a go at answering the questions on the attached worksheets.

Afterwards, you can mark your answers and ask a grown up to go through any mistakes you made that you don’t know how to correct.

DT

Today’s DT task is going to be to create a passport that you can take up to your new class with you. The purpose of the passport is to give your new teacher as much information as possible about yourself to help them get to know you and the way you learn.

The passport must include:

  • A picture of you
  • Your likes and dislikes
  • Your favourite subject and why
  • What you are looking forward to about Year 5
  • Any worries you have about Year 5

Make your passport as appealing and colourful as you can for your new teacher to read. You can bring these into school with you on Friday to give to your new teacher
