Hello King-Smith! smiley

Just a short note to say - Thank you to all parents and children who have sent me emails with daily updates on the amazing work that you are completing at home! I am overwhelmed and amazed with the kind words that I have received with photos and documents of all of your fabulous work! I am super proud of you and I think you are all fantastic! blush

If you have not yet emailed me, please email me on kingsmith@greenfield.walsall.sch.uk

I would love to hear from you all! smiley

Please take a look at the pictures below! I would like to share with you some of the pictures of work that I have received, after all it is only fair that you all get to see it too!

Many thanks and best wishes

- Miss Sharpe -

King-Smith's fabulous work!

Writing

Today we would like you to write a newspaper report all about the Apollo 11 space mission. Make sure you use all the information you have collected throughout the week. There is a WAGOLL (what a good one looks like) attached to Tuesday’s history work that I posted which you could use as an example and magpie some ideas from.

Your report should include:

  • A headline
  • An introduction including the when, who, what, where and why (in this order). You can find this information from Tuesday's history task.
  • Writing in columns
  • A picture with a caption (you can draw this e.g. the rocket taking off or the flag on the surface of the moon)
  • Paragraphs that include facts and opinions (speech from the astronauts or spectators on what they saw or how they felt)
  • A final paragraph about future space travel plans

Maths

Today, I would like you to complete some mental maths activities. Those of you that have emailed the Dahl class email address, will have been sent your credentials to TimesTableRockstars. Each of you has been set the times tables that you need to practise. Head to the TTR website and hit ‘Play’ when you have logged in. You will then be timed and tested on the tables assigned to you.

You can also head to the Daily 10 website (https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/daily10) where you can select which level you are working at and choose a topic to practise mentally. We have covered Place Value, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division in class, so these areas are a good place to start revising mentally. You can change the amount of time you have to answer each question according to how you get on. See if you can improve your scores!

Daily 10 - Level 1 or 2 (should know which one if they have emailed to find out).

Music

Today in Music, we would like you to listen to this piece of music ‘Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines’. Then, practise singing the words in time with the music. Once you have practised this a few times, we would like you to see if you can add actions to the music.

Feel free to film some of your responses and email them over to the class email. I’d love to see what you came up with!

Story Time

I hope you have been keeping up with the story of 'The Sheep Pig.' I also hope that you are enjoying it as much as I am. Please click below to hear chapter 6! I hope you enjoy it!
