Reciprocal Reading
Today, we are going to be continuing with our new book, ‘The Borrowers’ by Mary Norton. Today, you will be reading pages 16 (beside the fire) – end of chapter 2.
Work through the Reading PowerPoint and follow along with the teacher recording (https://greenfield-primary-school.primarysite.media/playlist/wc-22221-king-smith-class-videos). You will need to complete today’s written task. The text is attached below.
R - Questions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
O - Questions 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Y - Questions 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
G - Questions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
Here is the order we usually follow in class for Reciprocal Reading:
Literacy
In today’s lesson, you will be writing your own character description.
Yesterday, you chose 2 characters from the story to write about today. In this week's lessons you have completed small activities that will help you with your writing today.
Below is a success criteria for your group. Read through it before you start and remember to keep checking as you are writing.

BRAIN BREAK
Now you are half way through today's learning, it is time for a brain break. Follow this link to a Kidz Bop dance along video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0Xn4kd8xqY
Maths
Green -Today, we are going to learn to subtract from whole amounts.
Here is the link to a video that will teach you everything you need to know for this lesson, just as I would teach you in class:
After you have watched the video, have a go at answering the questions on the attached worksheet. Afterwards, you can mark your answers and ask a grown up to go through any mistakes you made that you don’t know how to correct.
Attached is a true or false for you to answer. Work through it and explain your answers. This is just a discussion to have with somebody else, you do not need to write anything down.
ROY - Today, you will be learning about the equivalence of 2/4 and 1/2 . Equivalence means the same as equal. If you split a pizza into 4 slices and ate 2 of them, you have eaten 2/4 of the pizza, which is equal or equivalent to ½.
This is recapped learning so try and think back to what you covered when learning about fractions in year 2. Have a go at answering the questions on the attached worksheet. Afterwards, you can mark your answers and ask a grown up to go through any mistakes you made that you don’t know how to correct.
Blue - Today, you are going to be learning to find 1 more and 1 less up to 100.
Here is the link to a video that will teach you everything you need to know today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Vn_qYZiJA4. There is also a 100 square attached for you to use to help you find 1 more and 1 less.
Once you have watched the video, have a go at answering the questions on the attached worksheet. Afterwards, you can mark your answers and ask a grown up to go through any mistakes you made that you don’t know how to correct.
PE
