Greenfield Primary School

Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Friday 26.3.21

Reading:

This week we have been reading The Hodgeheg. We will continue reading this story next week but today we are going to look at a poem.  It is called 'A Little Hedgehog'.

Open up Friday’s reading powerpoint in the Resources section below:

  • Reciprocal Reading - Friday 26.3.21

Read through the instructions - they will guide you through the activities you are going to do when you have read the poem carefully.

Writing:

This week we have been learning about how to write a diary.  Yesterday we wrote Max's diary, from the day of his first adventure to the point where he gets his bump on the head and starts talking in reverse!

Today we are writing Max's diary from the next day, when he wakes up and is determined to find a new way to cross the road safely...!

Make sure you:

  • Write in the first person (pretend you are Max)
  • Write in the past tense, looking back on what has happened
  • Include Max's feelings and his thoughts

Maths:

On Fridays in Maths we complete a Maths Skills quiz, to check that we can remember and use the skills we have learned in different areas of Maths.

Last week we completed Skill Check 2(supported).  Today we are going to complete the same task, but independently this time, remembering how we solved the problems last week.

Make a note of the tricky questions so we can look at this again in our Maths lessons. smiley

Geography:

In Geography this week, we are learning about a process called weathering.

We are going to learn what weathering is (the different types), where we see examples of weathering in the world and what we can do to prevent humans making weathering worse.

Open up the powerpoint in the resource section below. Read it through carefully then complete the Y3 activity on the slide at the end. smiley
