Writing:

This week we have developed our writing skills using the story of Aladdin.

Yesterday we used everything we have learned this week to edit our writing to make it even better. Today we are going to finish our work on Aladdin, by writing our own ending to the opening scenes!

Open up the link below. It is an online lesson, which will teach us how to write an ending to a story:

We have made some resources to help you complete the activities shown in the powerpoint.

Go to the resource section at the bottom of the page.

Open up this document: Writing -  Friday 5.2.21 and find the right activity for your group.

Art

In school, we were practising our sketching and shading skills. We learnt that everything we draw is based around shapes and the use of straight and curved lines.

Today’s task is to sketch a picture of either Aladdin or the Genie. Think carefully about the different shapes you can use to sketch the different parts of their body. Blend these shapes together using straight and curved lines.

Once you have finished your sketch, use your shading skills to shade inside your sketch to give the effect of the surface of the lamp or sward being shiny and smooth and lighter or darker parts of the character's body.

This week, our Learn to Draw animation series offers up a lesson on how to draw Genie, Aladdin's hilarious BFF. This can be used as a guide as well as your use of shapes.
