Writing:

This week we are learning to re-tell the opening of a traditional tale (Aladdin).  Yesterday our online lesson showed us the opening scenes of the Aladdin film. We looked at the different camera angles and how we could use them in our sentences. We also planned our retell of the opening to Aladdin.

Today we are learning to retell the opening of Aladdin by writing a setting description.

Open up the link below. It is an online lesson based on the opening to Aladdin:

The video will guide you through some different activities, step by step.  You will be watching a using your plan to help you write the opening to Aladdin.

We have made some resources to help you complete the activities in the video.

Find the one for your group in the resource section.

PSHE

Take a look at this week's Picture New video. You might notice some things happening that were also happening in the first lockdown. What can you see? What differences are there? I am particularly pleased that your parents and carers are being given some praise but you need huge praise too, you are all little super heroes!

Is it important to thank our heroes? What different ways might you show your thanks? I would like you to make a poster to either say thank you to your heroes or to show how you will thank your heroes. Also try the first 3 questions on Challenge 2 that Sue and Jo give us.

Remember to pause the clip to give yourself some thinking time.
