Today we are going to look at our spelling families.
These special friends make the same sound but are spelt differently.
igh (fly high)
i-e (nice smile)
ie (terrible tie)
Look at these words, where does the sound come in each of these words?
high, night, smile, shine, tie, pie
You are going to sort the words into the different ways of spelling this sound like we do in class. When you have finished choose 6 words and write a sentence for each.
Can you spell each of the words on the challenge activity?
See if a grown up can quiz you on spelling these words too! How many words can you spell correctly?
Today I would like you to spell words containing the sound sh.
First click here and let’s see if you can Fred talk these words in the video.
Now I would like you to look at your worksheet. You are going to read and spell words with ‘sh’ in. You will need to use Fred fingers to help you spell the words. Pinch the sound on each finger then write it down.
As a warm up, click here and we will practise counting to 100.
Now we can start our learning. Today we are going to be taking away by counting back using a number line. For each maths question:
Click here for a clip to help you get started.
For your challenge, you could count back in your head, using your fingers, using objects or using your 100 square.
Today we are going to be adding 2 amounts. First I want you to look at the picture, count carefully and write the total in the box. Then do the same with the second picture. Now add both groups together. Read your maths sentence out loud.
We would usually be doing our workout outside. But now things are a bit different. You can go to the park and use the apparatus to get fit and you can go for the walk to stay fit. Today we are going to watch this clip of Joe Wick and see who can keep up. I’ll be trying it at school too. Click here to begin. You can do it!
A world of festivals - Christianity - The Good Samaritan
This term we are learning about Christianity. Remember last week we learnt about the story of Zacchaeus, can you remember what happened in that story?
This week we are learning about the story of the Good Samaritan. This story is all about treating others as you would like to be treated. Watch this story first:
I’ve attached the worksheet for you.
Red and Blue groups I want you to order the story by putting the pictures in the right order.
Green, Yellow and Orange groups I want you to use the word mat to write a sentence for each picture.
There is a power point for you to look through to help you with your work.
