For today’s learning we have…

They have updated these lessons to include word time for set 1 speed sounds and spelling for set 2 and 3.

There is also “Storytime with Nick” three times a week (Mon, Wed & Fri at 2pm) and some poems that your child can learn and perform.

Literacy

Today we are going to listen to the story of the Princess and the Pea again.

Watch the story here:

What happened at the start, middle, end of the story?

What are the key features of fairy tales?

Go through the word bank I have attached below.

Now look at the pictures on your worksheet. Think of a sentence using the ‘Who’ (orange) picture first, then a ‘What doing?’ (yellow) picture, then a ‘What?’ (green) picture. Can you say your whole sentence? Remember to add those little words.

The princess    sleeping    bed    =    The princess is sleeping in the bed.

Now I want you to write colourful sentences for today’s 3 pictures.

Challenge: write 4-part colourful sentence for last picture (where).

Maths

GYOR groups:

First I would like you to complete the maths warm up on the worksheets below for recognising 3D shapes.

Go through how we read numbers, recap the 100 square and how we can find numbers we want quickly.

Go through a few numbers, find them on the 100 square and then ask which is the smallest and which is the biggest. How do you know? Go through the power point below to see if you can order the numbers with your grown up.

Today I would like you to order the numbers on the worksheet, remember if it helps you, find the numbers on the 100 square first.

Now you can out this learning to the test by playing this game:

Blue:

First we will warm up by counting to 10: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diMJIlv-4N0

This week we have been learning to count carefully. Today I have put lots of wintery pictures in one box. I want you to count each picture carefully and think about how you form the number. Cross the pictures out as you count them.

Christianity - The story of Zacchaeus

This term we are learning about Christianity in our RE sessions. A huge part of Christianity is the Bible. In the Bible there are lots of stories. Today we are learning about the story of Zacchaeus. He was a tax collector.

Everyone that works pays taxes to the government or the people that run the city and country you live in.  In some countries taxes help pay for doctor visits or to make or fix roads, pay for parks, or help those who can't work. The problem is that the tax collectors in this story didn’t always spend the tax properly or they took some of the money for themselves (which is stealing).

Zacchaeus lived a long time ago in a place called Jericho. Jesus had just arrived in this town. The word was spreading about this man named Jesus and the amazing things he was doing and saying.  So it was common when Jesus came to a place people would rush to see him.

Today I want you to watch the story of Zacchaeus.

Now I would like you to click on the worksheet below and fill in the thought bubbles for the different people in the story.

When you finish, there is a word search for you to complete.
