Maths

Year 1 – Yesterday we counted in 2s. Today we are going to practise this a little more. Join in with the counting in 2s song.

Counting By Twos Song

Look at the hundred square.  Can you find the multiples of 2?

Now complete today’s learning.

Year 2 – Today we are going to learn about arrays. Arrays have rows and columns. Rows and columns help us to multiply. Watch the video to learn all about arrays then complete the worksheet.

Literacy

Today we are going to look at our spelling families.

Year 1 – These special friends make the same sound but are spelt differently.

ee (What can you see?)

e-e (Go Pete and Steve!)

ea (cup of tea)

Look at these words, where does the sound come in each of these words?

deep, seat, here, treat, these, sheep

Now you are going to practise reading words with this sound in. See if you can read all the words on the reading sheet.

Now sort the words into the different ways of spelling this sound like we do in class. When you have finished choose 6 words and write a sentence for each.

See if a grown up can quiz you on spelling these words too! Let me know how you do!

Year 2 - Today we are going to look at words ending in ey, where the ey makes an ee sound like valley, monkey, chimney, donkey.

When we want to write the plural of one of these words, we add an s to these words

Valleys, monkeys, chimneys, donkeys.

Now complete the activity.

Blue group – today you are going to look at spelling words with special friends ck.

Read the words at the top of the worksheet to a grown up and underline special friends ck.

Sort the words out on your worksheet then write 3 sentences using 3 of the ck words.
