Maths

Year 1 For your warm up count to 100 with this song.

Let's Get Fit | Count to 100 | 2020 Version | Jack Hartmann

Today we are going to carry on our learning about fact families. Work through the video to learn about fact families. When you have done that try the attached worksheet. Then see if you can write more fact families for the part-whole models on the challenge sheet.

Year 2 – Today we are going to carry on our learning about finding the difference.

Watch the video and work through the examples as this will help you. Complete the finding the difference worksheet as you go along. Then try the challenge.

Blue group – Today I would like you to find 2 less than a number up to 20. You can use the number line to help you. Remember that when you find 2 less you need to jump back 2 spaces.

Literacy

Today we are going to look at our spelling families.

Year 1 – These special friends make the same sound but are spelt differently.

ay (may I play)

a-e (make a cake)

ai (snail in the rain)

Look at these words, where does the sound come in each of these words?

play, stay, make, cake, rain, snail

Now you are going to practise reading words with this sound in. See if you can read all the words on the reading sheet.

Sort the words into the different ways of spelling this sound like we do in class. When you have finished choose 6 words and write a sentence for each.

See if a grown up can quiz you on spelling these words too! Let me know how you do!

Year 2 – Today we are going to look at words ending in a y, where the y makes an ee sound like teddy, and lorry. Watch the video.

y as /ee/ - Mr Thorne Does Phonics

When we want to write the plural of one of these words, we need to change the y for i and then add es.       teddy – teddies, lorry – lorries.

Now complete the activity.

Blue group – Look at the pictures. Say the word to a grown up then write the word using the sounds you know.
