Reading

For your reading today, you can choose what you read. Let me know what you have read and what you thought of it. smiley

Maths: Red, Orange, Yellow & Green

It’s the last day of the week and the last day on pictograms!
For your learning today you are going to continue interpreting pictograms. However, on Wednesday I mentioned that sometimes 1 whole picture = 2 and ½ a picture = 1, you will be using some of these representations today. So make sure you read the key carefully before answering the questions!
For your challenge you will be creating your own pictogram, you can just draw this on a piece of paper. I am looking forward to seeing what category you choose for your pictogram!

Maths: Blue group

This week we have been learning about analogue time. Today we are going to learn about digital time.

Not all clocks have round faces, sometimes they have numbers instead.

O’clock is written 00

Half past is written 30 (because it’s 30 minutes in to the hour)

We write 3 o’clock as 3:00

We write half past 3 as 3:30

Click on the worksheet to match the clocks to the times and then the clock to the digital time. This weekend ask what time it is when you wake up and when you have breakfast. See if you can tell the time yourself using o’clock and half past.

Here is a game for you to try: https://mathsframe.co.uk/en/resources/resource/116/telling-the-time

Literacy: All groups

Today I would like you to write instructions to tell someone how to make a shadow puppet.

Instructions are written in a special way. Have a look at the example.

Look carefully to find:

  • a title
  • what you need heading
  • what to do title heading
  • each instruction numbered
  • use adverbs of time (first, next, then, after that, finally)
  • bossy verbs (doing words) put, mix, stir, stand, sit, cut
  • instructions in correct order

You are going to watch a video about how to make a shadow puppet. Watch and listen carefully to find out how to make the shadow puppet.

Now you are going to write your own instructions to make the shadow puppet. On the attached sheet, there are pictures to show each step of making the shadow puppet. I would like you to write an instruction next to each picture.

When you have finished you might want to make your very own shadow puppet.

You may even put on your own shadow puppet show! I would love to see pictures of your puppet or even a short video of your puppet show! I hope you all have fun with it!

Computing

The internet is a wonderful place to use great apps, play fantastic games and even chat to friends and family, but we have to be careful. Today we are going to learn about all the fun ways we can use the internet and what to do if we see something we don’t like.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zymykqt/articles/zym3b9q

I want you to make a poster today about all the fun ways you can use the internet. What is your favourite thing to do on the internet? You can email me to let me know and show me your poster.

P.E

For PE this week we are going to be learning how to change direction safely and quickly when we are moving.

For this you will need a big open space, a garden if you have one or maybe walk to the local park.

Today we are going to be using straight lines, turns, zig zags, curving corners and many more other ways of changing our direction.

Click on the power point below and join in with the different activities, have fun staying active!
