Friday

Good morning.

How have you got on with your learning this week? Here is Friday’s work.

Don’t forget you can send me your learning on the class email or write just to say hello!

Have a lovely weekend!

Reading

This week I would like you to choose your own books, magazines or comics to read from your home.  Please let me know what you are reading. Is it a fiction book? Is it a non-fiction book? What is it about? Did you enjoy it or not? You could even send me a short video of you reading a section from it. I am missing our chats about books and hearing you read.

Maths

Year 1: This morning we have a maths warm up to get our brains working, try to complete this independently.

Today we are going to be learning more about equal groups. Green and Yellow groups I want you to complete the groups by making sure they are equal amounts in each then count the groups. Then use your knowledge of counting in 2s, 5s and 10s to count how many are in each group.

Red and Orange group I want you to count how many equal groups there are and then use your knowledge of counting in 2s, 5s and 10s to count how many are in each group. Click on the worksheet below for your group.

Blue group: Today your learning is all about being able to draw and recognise 2D shapes. Use the worksheet to trace the shapes and then colour the shapes to complete the pizza. Don’t forget the big pizza itself is a circle.

Year 2: Our learning today is all about the number of faces on a 3D shape.

To remind yourself of what a face is, watch this video:

3D Shapes for Kids - Vertices, Faces and Surfaces Explained

Again, if you can find some objects in your home that are the same shape that could help you with this learning.
Cylinder – can
Cuboid – Cereal box
Cube – Tissue cube

Complete the worksheet below.

Challenge: Can you solve the riddles?

Literacy

Today we are going to answer questions about the story to show your understanding.

Watch Traction Man carefully then answer the questions. Try to answer the questions in complete sentences.

Traction Man is here - Books Alive! Read Aloud children's book

Computing

This week we are going to learn about the internet. Since you have all been learning at home, you have been using the internet a lot but what is the internet? Watch this clip to find out and look at all of the things that use the internet to work.

Then click on this link below to see how we can use the internet for our learning. I want you to make a poster that looks like a tablet or a computer and has all of the pictures for the different ways we use the internet. I look forward to seeing your posters.

PE

For PE this week we are going to be learning how to move with a ball and shoot a ball, some of you may already know how to do this, which is great, it’ll mean you’ll be brilliant at these games. All you need is a football. Ask others in your household to play a game with you too. You don’t have to do all the games but give a few ago. Let me know how you get on.

Here is the link for Joe Wick’s PE sessions if you would like to challenge yourselves.
