Imagine, Believe, Succeed

Friday

Good morning. I cannot believe it is Friday already!

Hope you are all ready for today’s learning.

Remember you can write to me and send me your learning on the class email or just to say hello!

Have a great weekend!

Reading

Remember to carry on with your reading. You are all fantastic readers!

What books have you been reading at home?

What was your favourite book? Why did you enjoy it? What was it about? I would love to hear what books you have been reading. Send me an email and let me know.

Have you been listening to Story time with Nick?

Maths

Year 1: Today we are learning about turns. We are going to be using words like half turn, quarter turn and full turn. Remember if you get stuck have a go at cutting the shape or picture out and physically turning it.

I’ve attached a poster and power point to explain your learning.

After you have finished your work, you can watch this video clip and have a go at the game. You could create paths for your grown up or brother or sister to follow at home.

Remember to practise your times tables with Times Tables Rock Stars.

Blue group: Let’s start off by ordering objects by size:

Your learning today is about positional language, this is when we explain where something is. We can use words like behind, next to, in between, in front of, under and on top of.

Year 2:

First complete the fraction warm up – How did you get on today after all of your fabulous fraction learning this week?

Today you will be answering some fraction word problems. You need to read the question and find the most important parts, like we do every time we solve word problems. Find the whole amount. What fraction of the amount is the question asking you to find? Share the whole amount into halves or quarters.

The answers are at the end of the questions so you can check and see how well you have done!

Literacy

Did you enjoy the poem you read and performed yesterday?

Today you are going to write a poem following the same pattern. Your poem will include the days of the week and will have names of the people travelling and how they travelled.  Finally, your poem must rhyme!

When you have written your poem, read and perform your poem to a grown up. I would love to see your poems.

Computing

This week we are going to be learning about programming. Because a robot is a machine, we have to program it to do things. It only does what we tell it to do

At school you might have tried to program a beebot, this is called a floor robot. Click on the link below to watch the information about programs and then there is a game for you to play.
