Reciprocal Reading

Today you are going to finish reading chapter 3 of Nim’s Island. Read today's pages and then I would like you to write a prediction.

What do you think might happen if Jack’s boat is a piece of driftwood that he can no longer steer?

Big Write

Today, you are going to write your description of Nim’s Island using your plan that you have made throughout the week. You will need to include interesting and powerful adjectives as well as expanded noun phrases.

Remember your writing skills that you will need to use in your big write:

  • Cursive Handwriting

  • Capital letters

  • Full stops

  • Finger spaces

  • Commas in a list or when using adverbs/fronted adverbials.

Maths

Today, I would like you to have a go on TimesTableRockstars. Log into your account and hit ‘Play’. I have individually set you all the times tables you need to practise. This is just to help you keep up with practising your times tables and improve your speed and fluency with mental maths.

I will have a look later at how your scores have improved and how many coins you have earnt.

Have fun Rockstars!

History

Today, we are going to learn about the Anglo-Saxon heroic code. Below, there is a video link that you can click on to watch and this will help you find out about their code that they have to follow to be an Anglo - Saxon. https://study.com/academy/lesson/anglo-saxon-values-culture-in-beowulf.html#:~:text=The%20Heroic%20Code,-The%20Heroic%20Code&text=In%20return%2C%20the%20king%20was,and%20duty%2C%20hospitality%20and%20perseverance.

Your task is to make a poster which includes headings with explanations about each element of the heroic code. You might also add some pictures to your poster too and perhaps you can colour it in to make it look colourful and eye-catching.
