Welcome to Year 2- Miss Pegler and Mrs Worrallo
We hope that your child is settling in well, if there is anything that you need or want to know please ask us.
PE is on Wednesday and Friday-please ensure that full PE kits are in all week and earrings are removed.
Homework is due back and given out on a Friday.
Reading books will be changed on a Friday, please ask your child questions about the book that they are reading such as;
-What do you think the story is about? (Making predictions)
-What does this word mean? (Clarifying words they may not understand)
- Why do they feel that way?
-Have you read any stories that are similar to this story? How are they similar?
-What other words could you use instead of .....?
By the end of Year 2 children are expected to be able to read and spell words known as Common Exception Words, these are attached below.
The staff and children would like to say a HUGE thank you to all of the friends and family who could join us for our assembly on Wednesday 29th November. The children worked hard and were proud to stand up in front of you all and tell you about what they have been up to in Year 2.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support with reading and homework!
Miss Pegler and Mrs Worrallo

'I want to be a nurse, my mom is a nurse'
'When I grow up I want to be a mad scientist as a I love science'
'When I grow up I want to be a teacher and look after children like me'
' When I grow up I want to be a police woman so I can work with dogs like my dad'
Enjoyment of reading is important at any age, especially for children. We enjoy reading books that we find tricky and as we learn new words our confidence begins to grow. We change our book when we want to and read to Miss Pegler, this encourages us to become independent readers.
Please support our enjoyment of reading as much as possible when we are not at school.
